Friday Evening: A Gentle Arrival

6:00 PM: Welcome to Avize! Settle into our charming Airbnb nestled in the heart of the vineyards. Take a moment to soak in the surroundings and enjoy the sunset over the vines.

8:00 PM: Indulge in a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, such as Les Avisés in Avize. Treat yourself to refined cuisine perfectly paired with exceptional champagnes.

10:00 PM: Return to your accommodation, enjoy the peaceful ambiance, and get ready for an exciting day ahead.

Saturday: Total Immersion in Champagne

8:30 AM: Start your day with a traditional French breakfast of fresh pastries and local grape juice.

At Au 1894, we prioritize offering you a personalized experience. While breakfast isn’t included, you can opt for a French breakfast basket delivered straight to your door.

What’s in the basket?

• Fresh baguette, croissants, and pains au chocolat.
• Brioche and local jam.
• Milk and fruit juice.

Price: €10 per person (€30 flat rate for 3 or more people).

How to order? Simply mention your request for a breakfast basket in the “comments” section when booking your stay. Make sure to notify us in advance so we can arrange the delivery.

10:00 AM: Stroll along Épernay’s iconic Avenue de Champagne, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

10:30 AM: Visit the cellars of a prestigious Champagne house like Moët & Chandon, Mercier, or Boizel.

12:00 PM: Enjoy lunch at Sacré Bistro in Épernay, an unmissable spot for savoring modern and generous French cuisine, paired with a selection of fine champagnes.

2:00 PM: Dive deeper into the world of Champagne with the “Become a Champagne Expert“ Tour offered by My Vintage Tour Company. This exclusive 3-hour tour in a vintage vehicle takes you through the region’s rich history.

Stops include: Hautvillers, the cradle of Champagne, and a visit to the Abbey church where Dom Pérignon rests. A scenic stop among the vineyards. A cellar tour and blind tasting of three cuvées at Champagne Vollereaux.

5:00 PM: End your day at Bar Brut, an intimate champagne bar on the Avenue de Champagne. Unwind with a carefully curated selection of champagnes paired with local delicacies in a cozy, refined atmosphere.

Sunday: Nature and Champagne Day

9:00 AM: Take a bike ride through the vineyards around Avize. Enjoy breathtaking views and snap some unforgettable photos.

It is possible for you to rent electric bikes for half a day, a day or a whole week with My Vintage Tour Company.

10:30 AM: Visit the nearby Grand Cru village of Oger for a tasting at Champagne Jean Milan. Discover the rich history of this family-run house and their exceptional cuvées that embody the local terroir.

12:30 PM: Enjoy a picnic among the vines with a basket of local products (cheese, charcuterie, artisanal bread, and of course, a bottle of champagne).

3:00 PM: Explore the Faux de Verzy in the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park, where you’ll find fascinatingly shaped ancient trees.

5:00 PM: Return to Avize to prepare for your departure. Take one last look at the vineyards and leave with memories to last a lifetime.
